wrong folder uploading

L

Linda Johnson

Somehow when I am attempting now to uploading a website, the entire MY WEBS
is going in. How I did that................ Anyway, how do I get things back
to normal, ie uploading only the folder in My Webs that I am changing? This
is not a new site; I've had it and others for years. Now it's screwed and I
am somewhat beside myself.

Open your FP subweb that you want to publish in MY WEBS in FP
- Use File Publish and select the destination in Remote Site Properties

It will only do the whole My Webs "folder" if that is the FP local site you currently have open
- advise us how you are opening your local site in FP and which FP subweb you are opening locally

I've done that. It still chooses to do the entire My Webs folder.

File, Open Site
My Documents, My Webs
click on folder I am trying to upload, and this is not working with a new
site I started either
folder is called zookcontracting
click on open
The entire My Webs folder is listed in the Folders List. I click on
Zookcontracting and it brings up its contents.
There is only one folder of images and an index page in this folder so far.
I am viewing the index page and all looks well.
I click to publish and everything on My Webs starts to go. This Zook folder
has like 6 or 7 graphics and one index file page.
Even in the local site box I click on the zook folder to show only those two
files and it still tries to publish the entire My Webs.

I have no response to any of this.

I am afraid to try any other sites now that they might also have this happen.

After you open the subweb Zook
Do not Click the Publish button!
(it remembers your last published site (My Webs)
From the Menus use File Publish and it will just publish the Zook subweb
- or select Remote Web Site View and it will show you what is going to be published

I have done that and it still goes to MyWebs. Could I have somehow set it as
a default publishing folder???

Then Zook is not a FrontPage Subweb and is just a folder under MyWebs
When you open the Zook Subweb you should Not see any files above it (from MyWebs)
- and in Remote Web Site View (on the left) you should only see the files/folders in Zook
