Wrong Resource Unique ID

Hi,

I am having this problem and would really appreciate if I
could get any help with it.
For some reason, when I open projects in Microsoft Project
2003, and go to the Resource sheet, and then display both
ID and Unique ID columns they show the same numbers. It
happens even in cases when I add a couple of resources,
remove some of them and add new ones. Once I save the
project, close it and then reopen, the ID-s are identical.

In the help Project has this for Unique ID "As you add
resources, Project assigns a unique number to each
resource within the project. This number is unique in that
it is never rearranged or reused if the resource is moved
or deleted."

To make it more complicated, if I query the msp_resources
table then in the table the res_uid field is unique and
different. It seems that somehow project displays ID
values under Unique ID in the Resource Sheet.

The main reason why this presents a big problem for me is
that sometimes when I delete resources that don't have any
tasks assigned, this action removes assignments from other
resources, since the Project has mixed up Unique ID-s and
ID-s.

Thanks,

Predrag

Are you really sure that you are displaying the ResourceUniqueID field?
Sounds like you are not. Perhaps someone has customized a field and called
it unique id?

Jack,

I wish this was the case, but unfortunately it is not.
The field I am displaying is the original Unique ID.
Now, one other interesting thing I forgot to mention in my
original post was that if I save the project as an .mpp
file and then close is and reopen it, the values under the
same Unique ID field are now correct. However, as soon as
I save it back to the server they get changed to the wrong
ones. I am just guessing that something might be messed
up in Enterprise Global, but have no idea what and how!
