Wrong update installed - how do I remove it?

Hello,

Rather stupidly, I have installed the Microsoft Office v. X for Mac Security
Update (10.1.6), although I'm working with Office 2004. Now it's asking me
for the serial number, but the one that came with Office 2004 does not work
of course. I can't get into any Office application. How can I remove the
update and access Office 2004 again?

This is baffling, both to me, and to those I checked with from MacBU).
Update 10.1.6 shouldn't do anything to your Office 2004 installation. I
just reapplied the update to my machine, on which I have Office 98,
2001, v.X and 2004, and it only affected the v.X installation.
