WSS 3.0 - Change Authentication from Windows Authentication to FBA

Hi All,

Good day!

I have a WSS 3.0 installed together with our Project Server 2007. We
are planning to change our authentication of our Project Server
installation from Windows Authentication to Forms-Based
Authentication.

In our WSS 3.0 sites, the user account shows Windows-authentication
account. Is there a way to change those user accounts to the new Forms-
Based Authentication accounts?

Thanks in advance,

Noynoy

Hi Noynoy,

I haven't specifically tried what you are proposing, but I would have
thought that the authentication type would be reflected in the WSS site when
the WSS Root permissions job gets run (ie when you change a group).

Hi Ben,

Thanks! My scenario is this:

1. We are converting our Project Server 2003 data (ProjectServer and
WSSContent) to the Project Server 2007 version
2. The ProjectServer authentication we are using in the 2003 version
is Windows-Authentication
3. When after migrating the 2003 data to 2007 platform, I want to run
a sql against the MSP_RESOURCES table in ProjectServer (i'm not sure
it is the correct approach but I'm dealing with 2K+ users that I need
to move to FBA mode)
to convert the authentication of each user from Windows to LDAP (FBA)

My question is how can I also do a mass update on the related
sharepoint sites of our migrated projects to reflect the new
authentication method used by my ProjectServer users?

thanks and best rgds,

Noynoy
