Project 2003 Install Questions

Why does the STSAdmin account need to be a local admin? What tasks does it perform that require these permissions

If ProjSrv and Analysis Services are on two seperate machines, does having an OLAPAdmin account with the same password on each actually work, or do you have to use a domain account

Why do these accounts need to login locally?

I have my guesses but that is all they are so I'd rather not say. You
will probably have to ask Microsoft this since they designed the system.

What you are referring to is known as a workgroup setup and I have
successfully set this up before. As you surmise, you just need to make
sure the usernames and passwords are the exact same. Also, don't
forget to install Analysis Services Decision Support Objects to the
Project Server when they are distributed.
Why do these accounts need to login locally?

Who knows. :)
