WSS deployed at host provider?

I’m looking at Sharepoint as a candidate for my portal web solution for
containing sub-webs. I use an ordinary server and several PC in a home
network, and for production site I use an external host provider.

Is this a possible solution using Sharepoint 3.0? Nearly all pages are made
using MS Office 2007 Professional Pro and Adobe Acrobat 8(pdf-document).
