X axis restricted in scatter charts

Excel Guru's please help.

I am working with an excel spreadsheet that was created by an individual who
is no longer around for consultation and I am having difficult with the x
axis scale in a scatter chart.

The spreadsheet is a tool used for the company's risk managment approach.
Risks are currently tracked by assessing their likliness to occur and the
consequence if they do occur. These values are mulitplied and provide one
risk number that is tracked on the scatter chart. Currently two lines are
plotted (estimated vs. actual) Then for each mitigation step we determine we
have 6 fields to fill in - estimated completion date, expected likelihood,
expected consequence, actual completion date, actual likelihood, actual
consequence.

The problem I am having however is that I can not figure out how to extend
the values of the x axis. Currently it plots every date through 2008,
however the company would like to track through 2012. If I enter a date of
2020 a dotted line shows up and runs off the chart, but I can not figure out
how to change the scale to include later dates. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your support and time.
