I have just reinstalled Office 2001 and find that dates MUST be entered M/D
or M/D/Y even though the cell can be formatted D/M/Y etc

In the past I must have found how to change the default so the date can be
keyed in day first and month second

Please tell me where this setting is hidden or was there something I missed
during installation?

Thanks

Did you re-apply the SR1 patch? If I remember well it fixed this issue.

Many thanks Bernard - I had forgotten that - it was some time ago that I
first installed 2001 and I do not know where SR1 had gone - now downloaded
from Mactopia and installed and tested - great!
