XL V.X VBA Editor Help missing

N

Nigel King

When using the Visual Basic Editor in Excel V.X Using
Help->Visual Basic Help Contents
I get the message

The "MS Office VBA Editor Help" file that contains this topic cannot be
found.
To fix this problem reinstall Help using the Microsoft Office Installer
program.

I am using Office 10.1.3 on OSX 10.2.6
I have tried;

Reinstalling the whole office thing with updates including using Remove on
the CD.

And

Searching for the file on my computer and the CD without success.

Suggestions welcome

The Help File should be "MS Office VBA Editor Help" and it *should* be in
the Microsoft Office X/Office/Help folder. Well this how it is on my
computer. If I drag it out of the folder, I get the same message as you do.

Did you specifically indicate the VBA help in the install program (it isn't
automatically included if I remember well, there is a checkbox)? If you
haven't, run the Additions Installer and make sure the corresponding
checkbox is checked (no need to uninstall the whole lot).

Quite surprising. I have never heard of "downgraded" versions...

When you run the "Additions Installer" from the CD, can you see an item
names "Programmability"? Does its content show a "VBA Help" line? If yes, is
this checked?

The names "Addition" and "Programmability" may be different, as I'm having a
French version, so I have to figure the original name from its French
translation... Well, just tell us what you see ;-)
