XML support under Power Point

It is true that is not possible import an XML file with the
Office XML-Schemas format into Power Point? Have I to go
over the Open Office detour? Is there no other possibility
to generate an PPT presentation in an extern program like
e.g. in Visio?

Yes, you are correct. XML implementation in PPT is not quite on the same
level as Word or Excel.
