Good day -

I own a copy of Office XP Developer that I first installed on a desktop last
year. The machine has failed; repairing it is not economical (due to age).
As a temporary measure, I'd like to install the XP Developer software on my
laptop so I can continue to work on a couple of projects I've started, then,
in a while (a few weeks to a month or so), install it on a new desktop.

I understand that I can't have the software on the laptop and the desktop at
the same time. Is this sort of use permitted? How might I document this if
needed? I'm not looking to evade the license, just to prepare myself for the
inevitable questions.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Steve E.,

As long as the license is no longer used on your computer, the laptop
installation is fine. If the internet product activation fails, use the
telephone method and explain the hardware change to the operator.
