XP and Office 2000 updates

I upgraded from 98 to XP. The some upgrades and downloads require SR1
disk. I only have a Service Pack 2 from MS.
I get the error message Data1.ms1 in not valid. I referred
to KB 299661 removed and reinstalled Office 2000. The
Office 2000 came with my Dell Dimension computer and it
was on 2 CD's. The Service Pack 2 CD from MS contains SR-1 and 2.
Now how do I install downloads from MS that requires the Data
1.MSI from SR 1 to complete the installation or install
other functions for MS Office 2000? Is there a way to use
the Service Pack 2 for this?

Hi, Larry,

The updates probably want your original Office 2000 CD, not the SR-1 patch
CD. The Windows installer isn't always too clear about what it really
needs. This article may provide more helpful information:
