XP crashes/freezes after opening Outlook 2000

After installing a recommended "patch" from Microsoft for
Outlook 2000, my XP home ver will freeze up EVERY time I
open Outlook 2000; This did not occur before I installed
this patch. It has now been long enough that I do not
know what exactly I installed, and how to uninstall it.
Any help out there?
