XP Folder Restore

[Setting Permission to import.pst files]

I reformated my C hard drive the other day. Before doing so I backed up all
the information I wanted to save on my D: drive. WHen I tried to restore it
from D: to C: it would not work. Do I have to have XP installed on my D:
drive in order to get the Restore wizard to work? The same situation applies
to my saved .pst Folder. Do I need to install copy of Outklook on my D: drive
in order to restore to C:?
