XP SERVICE PACK 2

D

Dr Ed

I INSTALLED XP SERVICE PACK 2. NOW, WHEN STARTING WORD IN
OFFICE XP PRO THE WINDOWS INSTALLER LOADS AND REQUESTS THE
ORIGINAL DISKS, WHICH I DON'T HAVE. I NOTICED THAT IN WORD
ALL OF THE FONT CHOICES ARE MISSING AND ONLY THE DEVICE
FONTS (3) ARE LISTED. IN THE WINDOWS FONT SUBDIRECTORY THE
FONTS ARE LISTED. HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM
HAPPENING WITH INSTALLING SERVICE PACK 2 FOR XP?

THANKS.

Dr Erris

Thanks for your help. The new update changed the default
printer settings to zGeneric. Once set back to the proper
printer Word and Publisher presented the correct fonts.

As far as installer coming up for Office XP I'm going to
use my newer Office Small Business 2003 instead.
Unfortunately, my IBM ViaVoice Pro USB voice recognition
does not work with Word 2003 as it did with Word 2002. Go
figure. Scansoft hasn't released a patch and doesn't
expect to. They won't even let anyone know via their
website that this is a problem.

Anyway, thanks again for your quick help.
