XP Slowdown on Startup after installing Office 2003

Since I have installed Office 2003 on Win XP Home when I boot up and get
into windows my ADSL
net connection icon can take up to one minute to appear in the system tray
and it takes about 2 minutes
for Norton Firewall/Anti Virus to load up. Before installing office 2003
every thing was instant.
(Before connection icon appears etc I do have internet access)

I did a reinstall format etc of WinXP and done all updates for all software,
and hardware and still the same.

System
3gig cpu
1gig ram (400mhz)
m/b 800mhz FSB
160gig h/d 8meg onboard cache
128meg GeForce4 Ti4200 Video Card

Anyone got any ideas? I assuming Office 2003 has done something to cause
this.
And I don't believe its the norton patch stuff up that is the problem since
before I
did a fresh install i had no problems with all latest norton patches etc
untill I installed
office 2003 then the problem started, and I have tryed all the fixes that
have been suggest
for norton and they made no differents.

Norton Anti-Virus is probably the cause.
