XP: Text Won't Vertically Center When Told To In The Page Layout M

Everything won't vertically center, but rather stays in the normal position, when I tell it to in the page layout menu. I have Office XP. Text, pictures, you name it, it won't vertically center. What should I do?

I'm guessing you have your text in floating frames or floating text boxes, and the pictures are probably formatted as floating too. Floating objects are in the drawing layer and do not follow the vertical/horizontal alignment settings. If you format the frames/text boxes/pictures as "inline with text", then they will be in the text layer and will follow your vertical/horizontal alignment settings.

Or, if they are floating in the drawing layer, they can be centered on the
page using the Draw menu on the Drawing toolbar, Draw>Align or
Distribute>Relative to Page, Draw>Align or Distribute>Middle. Since you
will probably want to center them as a group, first Draw>Group.

You're viewing it in Print Layout view?

Okay, I may have to get more specific. Regular text that you type
normally never centers. Also, if I insert clip art or WordArt I can't make
that center either. I never use text boxes or the drawing menu.
