Sounds like an AutoCorrect entry has triggered. What happens when you type
CTRL+z immediately after you type St. ? Does it revert back to St. ?

Tools>AutoCorrect Options>AutoCorrect. Scroll through the list and find the
offending entry and delete it.

Greg,

You have solved my dilema. there was an autocorrect
entry. I fixed it. don't know how it got there. When i
hit the CTRL-z, nothing happened. So I followed your
directions to autocorrect and there it was.

Thank you so much. You can only imagine how annoying it
was.
Sincerely
Fritzj
