% yes

i have a column wiv loads of values either yes or no, i want to know the
percentage of yes's in the column

One way:

=COUNTIF(A:A,"yes")/COUNTA(A:A)

format as a percent.

Try this:
=COUNTIF(A1:A10,"yes")/COUNTA(A1:A10)
Format as Percent
