yet again an automation I could do without.

I'm sorry to keep coming back with these questions but I forgot another one.
When copying files to folders in folder view the links are changing. I
thought in 2002
it used to ask if you wanted to update them. My answer was always no! The
exact scenerio
may be somewhat off but the meaning is there.
How do I set the options to not change the HTML. no matter what type of file
movement,
publishing method, share access, directory depth etc. Please MVP's (beg beg)
baseline of settings that will assure a lack of onforseen changes to code of
any type
unless specifically asked for.

How are you moving the files? In general if you copy and paste between
folder, just the links to page content, such as, images, backgrounds,
includes files are updated, but hyperlink between pages are not changed.

Actually, now that I think about this more, the only time I see a prompt
about update links, is when I choose to rename a file.

99% of the time, correcting those links is the right thing
to do. The other 1%:

1. Open the existing page and a new blank page.
2. Switch both pages to HTML (or Code) view.
3. Copy all the code from the existing page to the
clipboard. For example, press Ctrl+A and then Ctrl+C.
4. Replace all the code in the new, blank page with the
code in the clipboard. For example, press Ctrl+A
and then Ctrl+V.
5. Save the new page in the location you want.

Thanks fellas,
Great explaination/method Jim Buyens, but Windows Explorer is easier
from here. I just thought I remembered this "don't touch" capability
in 2002, guess not.

Don't touch means don't touch my html tags (not don't touch my links)
If you want to copy pages and not affect links (your links may be end up broken)
Either
Use absolute urls in your links, or
Insert all links as custom Html
- Insert Web Component Advanced Controls Html

Mr B

Just do the copying of files and such in Windows Explorer and NOT in FrontPage. Then it has no way
of updating anything.

That's what I do...
