Yet MORE Administrative project questions...

Hi everyone,

I've spent the better part of the morning reading all the posts regarding
administrative projects, and it seems to be a hot topic.

What I can't find for administrative projects, is a way to allocate either
an hourly figure (or a percentage if I must) to each of our resources for a
particular admin task. For example:

Peter, Paul and Mary each use 1 hour daily, to maintain system "X". Peter
and Paul also put aside 2 hours daily to maintain system "Y".

Similarly, John is only available 50% of the time for project work, while
the other half of his time is spent on various administrative projects.

Whenever I attempt to allocate this time, PS2003 changes either the start or
finish dates for these tasks. We want the tasks daily, ongoing tasks for
each quarter.

What concept am I missing?

Thank you,
RAS

Richard,

Have you tried changing the task type? I use Fixed Duration w/o Effort
Driven, when I want to keep the duration constant.

Hope this helps...

Ernie,

Yes, I've tried Fixed Duration (without Effort..), but it still seems to
shuffle the dates, when it recognizes that the resource is available in the
interim. I need to 'cap' a users time (per day) on a given admin task.

Thanks for your reply..
