You can't assign a value to this object

I have a form with a subform and every time I try to enter data into the sub
form I get this message. I have master and child links, and when I disable
them it works but in order for the form to work correctly I need to have
these links.

Mmhouse,

What are the fields and their data types that you are using for the Link
Master Fields and Link Child Fields properties of the subform? At the
time that you are accessing the subform, there is a current record on
the parent form, right?
