You can't perform this action at this time

Every once in a while one of our databases gives this message: "You can't
perform this action at this time" when the user tries to close the form. If
anything else is done with the data on the form it gives unpredictable
results, calculations are not made or are incorrect, dlookups are not
performed, etc. At this point you can't close any forms, or the database,
because they all give the same 'can't perform' error.

You have to go to Task Manager and kill the Access 2000 process.

If Access and the database are restarted, everything will work properly
until suddenly, out of the blue, this "You can't perform this action at this
time" error appears, on a different form under different conditions on a
different day. Again, you have to crash Access to get out and restart it.

So I don't think it is a coding issue.

What else can cause such an error?

FE/BE Access 2000, Win 2000 Pro.

As a first effort, go into any module and Debug ->Compile the project...see
what errors come up.

I have decompiled and recompiled, repaired and compacted, but the error
still comes up every two or three days.

Any other suggestions?
