zip codes end w/ 0

How can I get the decimal point and zero off my zip codes? When I merge
Excel with Word 2000 for mailing labels, the name, address, and city looks
fine, but the zip codes all have a decimal and a zero added for some reason.
Would appreciate any help with this.

In Excel, in the zip code field, try reformatting it with
no decimal places, save it, close both documents, reopen
them and try merging again.

I am having trouble keeping my zip codes in order, while
merging from Access. Any ideas? We're doing a bulk
mailing and I need the labels in zip order. I think the
problem is with word.

Even if Zip code is the primary key of the Access table you are using as a
data source, that is no guarantee that the records will be delivered to Word
in Zip code sequence.

If you can't sort successfully within Word's Edit Recipients dialog box, it
should be possible to create a Query in Access that sorts on the Zip code
field (although it does depend on how the codes are represented in Access)
and use that as the data source for the merge.
