Zoom to off page shape on Web

Lisanne

I created a hyperlink to an off page shape and set the zoom level to 200%.
When saving as web page and open it in IE 6.0 the hyperlinks work, but it
does not zoom to the shape.

How can i automatically zoom to the right shape with the right zoom level in
IE?

Using:
Visio: 2003
IE: 6.0

Can't work, there is no concept of zoom in IE, nor in any web page.
Opera can do a zoom on a whole page, but that isn't what you want.
I think you want to centre and zoom in on one shape, not currently
possible.

Hello Paul,

Yes, I hoped there would be a way to let Internet Explorer centre/focus on
the shape.

After searching on the web i couldn't find the answer. Thank you for
responding.

Paul, I wonder if Lisanne is refering to the Save As Web Pan and Zoom
widget?

As far as I can see when you include a zoom level for a hyperlink (to a
page/shape within a Visio document) the zoom parameter is written into the
ExtraInfo cell of the hyperlink in the ShapeSheet. This does infact get
passed through to the data.xml file although it's not actually used.

The ExtraInfo is not included in the final hyperlink if the Address cell is
empty (which is the case for inter-page links).

The data is there, but you 'd need to add some javascript to pull it out at
the right moment and then call the zoom adjustment as well.

So, Lisanne, I'd agree with Paul - it's not possible unless you're willing
to get your hands dirty with javascript.

Hope that helps.

Best regards

John

Hi John,
Thank you for your reply. You've understood exactly what is the problem.

It wouldn't be a problem to add some JavaScript. If only the code would be
ready. I will start searching on the internet.

If you have it already, please let me know!

Kind regards,

Lisanne

Hi Lisanne,

I might add this as a blog post (see below) although I'm in the middle of a
project at the moment so it may not be immediately.

Will post back here when it's done.

Best regards
