9100 Error message while closing/saving a project.

When I publish/re-publish/save/close my project information to the server, I
am getting an error on the screen.

"An exception occured in the Project Server.Project server encountered a
problem with the error code :9100.Please contact your server administrator."

Is it a known issue.I read in one of the forum that we might need a special
patch from Microsoft. Is it true? Can anyone please help out?

Waqar,

I followed the process but still some mebers are seeing the problem. It's
not happenning reagularly in all the cases. But quite frequent. Am i missing
anything? This is particularly true if you do some modifications & then try
to save/close it.

I am using MS project server 2003 & Pro 2003.

Thanks,
Ratnadeep

I changed the Viewdrop security . Are there anything i need to do more? Is it
related to access rights any way? Because when i log in as an administrator &
perform the same thing i can't see the problem. But others are seeing the
problem with the same project. Am i missing something ? Please advice..

Thanks,
Ratnadeep

Hi,

From the Gantt Chart View, please tell me how many tasks (rows) the
project plan has.
Then, click on View / Resource Sheet, and tell me how many rows are on
the Resource Sheet...
Then, do a File / Save As / Save to File and save it to an .mpp file.
Then tell me how big that saved file is.

Hi, Ratnadeep,

In my almost 5 years working with Project Server, this has happened to
me several times. Each time, it was because a certain resource was
duplicated thousands or tens of thousands of times. That's why I asked
you to go to View / Resource Sheet and tell me how many rows are
there. If this is indeed your problem, I will help you fix it.

Aviva, sorry for not seeing your earlier response.

I checked one of the project ..the resource sheet have only 6 rows & the
saved file size is 576 kb.

In the enterprise resource sheet there are 109 rows for 109 users.

Hope this helps.

One more question..what are the impact of this error? I think the changes
are still saved & published even if i encounter this error message. Can you
please confirm?

Thanks,
Ratnadeep

I think we have nailde down the issue & it was a Viewdrop prmission issue. The
problem is now we can not retain the security settings in the Viewdrop
folder.I logeed into the system as administrator & changed the settings .But
the settings vanishes after some time & user starts seeing the 9100 error
again. Are there anything else i need to do to retain the settings? Any
help/idea?
