Can't launch entourage - "no write access to Entourage Application Folder"

Hi, I'm having a bit of a baffling problem. I just reinitialized an
old G3 running 10.2.8 which I use partly for archiving e-mail. I can't
launch Entourage however. I initially restored Office from a backup,
but have since reinstalled it entirely and still have this problem.
(all other Office applications run fine)

In launching Entourage I get an error:
"You do not have write access to the Entourage application folder. To
run Entourage you must have the administrative user remove the
identities folder from the application folder. For more information,
see the Entourage Read Me file"

So, I am the only account on this computer, and I'm the administrator.
I have ensured I have read/write access to the applications folder, and
the "Microsoft Users Data" folder in documents. I even moved the
restored MUD folder out of the documents folder. It appeared to crate
a new Office 2004 Identities folder but nothing below that, and
Entourage still does not open.

I'm confused why the message says I don't have access to the "Entourage
application folder", and what specific folder it is referring to as
there really isn't an Entourage folder as best as I can tell. I'm also
not sure why the message says I have to remove the "identities folder"
from the "application folder" since the identities folder is in the MUD
folder.

Any advice?

Thanks, Jeff

Thanks, I tried installing from scratch, but without success. I'll
try again, but since I'm still early in the process, it might be
quicker and safer to just reinitialize the whole machine, and reload
the couple programs I want and be done with it.

Good luck with that then :-\
