"Can't open this item. Another application closed unexpectedly...

In Outlook 2003, I've just started getting this message yesterday:

"Can't open this item. Another application closed unexpectedly while using
your Personal Folders File..."

Any suggestions what might be causing this? Any ideas how to track down the
problem?

The message repeatedly begins appearing within 5-10 minutes of the time I
restart Outlook. I'm unable to access any of my folders or send any outgoing
emails until I close and reopen Outlook. Rebooting doesn't help.

(The only thing I did recently is install Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0 and the
limited Adobe Photoshop program, but I can't imagine how this could be
relevant.)

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Please Help - I know this is not the proper way to post in this community -
but I have spent 2 hours researching how to open a new thread. Your new
"button" doesn't work or I don't know how to work it.

My Outlook 2003 will no longer open. I get the Microsoft window box that
says: "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook
window. The set of folders could not be opened. The server is not available
(not true). Contact your administrator if this condition persists."

It persists and I need help ASAP
