clip art missing

I have Publsiher 2007. Recently, I was using a friends computer who has
Publisher 2003 and I created a .pub file. I opened the .pub file I created
using Publsiher 2003 on my computer. Now my clip art is missing. How can I
retrieve the clip art files?

Were the images embedded?
View, Pictures, do you have Detailed display enabled?

W

willy

Yes, detailed display is enabled.

Not sure what you mean by embedded? Sorry.

Before I opened the file created in 2003 version, my publisher had thousands
of pictures, clipart of any given choice. Now, when I search for clipart to
insert there is very minimal images.

Are you using the Organizer? Do you get an error? Are all the folders checked in
the Organizer?

Embedded basically means the picture is with the publication, rather than
linked.

The only way you could have had thousands of clipart come up is if you are
online when you search. or if you had Publisher 2002. It came with a media disk.
Publisher 2003 came with very little clipart

Open the Clip Organizer from Publisher.

Insert, clip art, are Web Collections checked in the *Search in:*?

There is not an option for web collections. Is there a way to "turn that on"?

The only options listed are my collections and office collections.

Open the Organizer from Start, Microsoft Office Tools. When the Organizer opens,
tools, compact. Help, detect and repair.

Can you click Office Online? Tools, Office Online.

W

under the help, detect and repair - which option should i choose...

restore my shortcuts while repairing OR
discard my customized settings and restore default settings.

M

Mary Sauer

I'd use the restore.

There are other remedies if the detect and repair doesn't work. Are you certain
you are online when you search?

W

willy

I did the restore. Web collection is in "search in..." now, but it does not
bring up any more clip art.

I cannot expand the web collection option - like I can with the office
collection and my collection.

Is your firewall preventing your access to the Office web site? Can you go
directly to the web site bypassing the Organizer?
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/clipart/FX101321031033.aspx

Empty your temporary cache, in Internet Explorer, tools, Internet options,
delete, delete files.

If that doesn't help:

Rename the Mstore10.mgc to Mstore10.old.
The file is in a folder similar to this (hidden)
C:\Documents and Settings\<<user name>>\Application Data\Microsoft\Clip
Organizer
If you have Vista:
C:\Users\<<user name>>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Clip Organizer

This will force the Organizer to create a new catalogue the next time it is
opened.

W

willy

Yes, I can get directly to that website.

I emptied my cache. That still didn't help.

I completed the steps to remane the file and rebooted. Logged in again and
still no good.

Do you have more than one version of Office on your computer? Do you have Office
XP? Or was Office XP the original source for your Organizer?
Have you tried adding clip art to the Organizer? File, Add clips to Organizer.
Do you have a folder in My Documents called Microsoft Clip Organizer?
I suppose the best workaround would be clicking Clip art on Office Online when
you want clipart.

You should be able to insert the Office disk, find the Organizer, run all from
my computer.
