Hi

I have just reset my account in Entourage using pop3. I have double checked the settings in both accounts and schedules. My email is coming through fine but it continually updates my inbox, ie every 15mins my whole inbox is downloaded. Any ideas in stopping this?

The error description is:

Login allowed only every 15 minutes

Could not retrieve mail

-16999

I've been to Windows live but they say its an Entourage problem.

Are you saying it's download duplicates of your messages each time it
connects? Can you explain again exactly what your problem is?

Error -16999

Solution: Try using account with secure password selected and not selected.

In the Account window, select "Click here for advanced receiving options
button". Toggle "Always use secure password" Try to receive mail again.

Tried this but still no joy. I normally like to log in with my email password into Entourage, but even with my password saved, it's still downloading.

Log into your Hotmail account with your browser. Make sure all messages that
have been download are either deleted or moved out of the Inbox in your
browser.

Now test in Entourage.

POP is not intended to be a storage for emails like the Hotmail web account.
If this is the behavior you are wanting, you should get an IMAP account. I
highly recommend the Gmail IMAP accounts that are free.
