Error 1335

I'm trying to install Office Pro 2003 on my Win XP Pro
laptop computer.

Every time, the installation crashes with an error 1335,
but with a different filename in the error message:
"The cabinet file (insert filename here) required for
this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This
could indicate a network error, an error reading from the
CD-ROM, or a problem with this package".

The error occurs, still with different filenames, if I
try to install it from the CD-ROM, from a second CD-ROM
drive, from a network installation and from the hard disk
directly...

The laptop was completely formatted yesterday, Windows XP
Pro reinstalled with all the critical and recommended
updates, and Office 2003 is the first application I am
trying to install...

Any suggestion?

Try the following:

Start, Run
msiexec /unregister
Click Ok, nothing will seem to happen
Start, Run
msiexec /regserver
and the hour glass might flash for a second but thats it

Reboot and try installation again
