Matthias Bitsch

Hello,

i have a Problem with two Office 2003 Pro Patches.
When installing i get a Error: "Update could not installed".

Looking into the Log-Files:
First OHotfix(XXXXX).log:

The update failed.
Finished processing the update on 01/26/2007 at 10:16:05.
Encountered error 1603 while updating.
FindError result: failed
Error 1603 not ok to report to Setup Watson.

The Error-Code 1603: Fatal error during installation, is little less to find
the Point.
So Microsoft tells on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308490/en-us to look
into the
OHotfix(xxxxx)_Msi.log

The Log-File shows at the end:

Okay still 1603.
In the middle of the Log-File i found:

Note: Rückgabewert 3 means Return Value 3
I think this two lines could help me,
StartCache: Error 0x8007000f: failed to cache cabinet: SKU011.CAB
StartCache: Error 0x8007000f: failed to set state for cabinet: SKU011.CAB
but on the Microsoft-Site i coudn't find anything avout the Error 0x8007000f.

Can anybody help me?
Thanks

M. Bitsch

I have followed the same path Pilgrim and arrived at the same
destination. Hopefully there is an MS Guru out there who can decipher
this for us
