File will not open

I'm expecting the worst - worked on a project yesterday now getting "Project
cannot recognize this file format" when I try to open For sure it's an .mpp
extension. It wants to open as a text only. Any ideas how I can get this to
open (properly)?

Hello Nickc,

Are you trying to open from within Project or by double clicking on
the file in the OS?

What version of Project, including service pack? Is it possible
someone else tried to open the file not using Project?
