Error Message, Project cannot recognize this file format...

I worked on a .mpp file on Sat. and on Sunday when I went to work on it some
more I got the erro message "Project cannot recognize this file format"...
I've seen this bug posted elsewhere - any solutions, (other then going to
backup... )?

Hi Nancy,

Did anything change on your computer from Saturday to Sunday? Usually
suddenly having difficulty opening a file that worked fine one day is due to
something changing on the computer. We have had some reports of the Norton
AntiVirus Plug-In causing troubles but I can't imagine an update was done on
Saturday night. If you are using Norton disable the Office-plug in.

Otherwise, the message you are seeing usually indicates a corrupt file. You
*may* be able to recover some data by inserting the damaged file into a new
project through Insert > Project, but if Project cannot recognize the file
type, all may be lost and you have to revert to backup.
