fixing the place of a note container

Hello,

Suppose I have a once sentence text (I call it maint text now).
And suppose I add another text next to this sentence but in another
container (I call it a note now).
So it looks like a note for that sentence.

Now, if i write a new text on top of the main text, the main text will move
down as I cotinue writing the new text. However the note (container) I added
to the main text stays at its place and therefore is
detached from the main sentence. However I want the note to keep attached to
the main text all the time.
How can I do it?

Do you want the second bit of text added to the first? Easiest way is to
cut and paste into the desired container.

If you want the second bit of text to remain in a separate container but
move with the first container, that can't be done. Containers do not
have any spatial relationship with other containers which can be
maintained.

If there is a new container, it has it's own life.

Yes, this is the normal situation.
As said, the containers are independent from each other if on containers
moves (or the text in one container) the other containers stays where it
was. It has to be moved manually in order to meet the original reference
point.
However I want the note to keep attached to the main text
all the time.

Your wish is most reasonable.
I can not be fulfilled at present, however.
Unfortunately ON does mot have a feature for "grouping"c containers
and/or images.
This is one of the most serious drawbacks in ON.

IMO this would need to be changed urgently. I do not think that it might
be done without major overhauling. So I doubt that we might see this
urgently needed feature prior to ON/Office 14. {siiiigh}.
But you may post this as a suggestion for the next version in "Connect",

When done, pls drop a note with the URL in here so that we can jump in
