How do I make footnotes and endnotes in PowerPoint 2007?

Is there a way to make footnotes and endnotes using PowerPoint 2007? The last
reference to this on the Microsoft site is for PowerPoint 2003. Help for
PowerPoint 2007 is silent on this topic.

PowerPoint is a presentation program, not a text processing program. As
such, it has no built-in capability for footnotes or endnotes, neither in
the older nor in the newest version. You have to add a text box or a text
slide and care for the numbering yourself.

Best regards,

Ute,
Thank you for the response. I copied my footnote information from a prior
report, with which used to make my slides. Your explanation is exact and
clarifies for me that I am not missing any information. I cannot locate the
place to post your response, but it is perfect.
Thanks
