How to find out projects in relation to event log...

T

Thomas

Hi all,

is there a chance to find out, where (which project, task, etc.) the
following error occurs?

Component: PjMsgHlr
File: C:\Office\devsp\project\WebClient\source\server\pjmsghlr
\MsgHandler.cpp
Line: 592
Error Number: 0x8c040017
Description:
Assert Detected. The error code was
also included.

After some research I know this error is based on local resources and
our server setting, to disable creation of user accounts....

Any feedback on this issue?

Regards
Thomas

PS: We're using Project / Server 2003 SP3.

Hi Thomas,

Do you see any other error log along with this one on the same time?

Thanks,
Ravi.

The user publishing the project should be getting a spooler error !

I don't believe you can ascertain the project from this error code alone.

You could always try using the settracing tool from the resource kit to
capture some additional information.

Hi Paul,

I understand and agree your answers. However don't we get additional
logs on the same time containing the proj_id and the name even?
Am suspecting that and asked Thomas the question.

Thanks,
Ravi.

no, unfortunately no more error messages.

related to this error code I know, that this is a spooler error....but
for the future I would like to start to avoid these errors and
communicate them to the user.
based on that knowledge, best would be to train them individually...

any other ideas?
