Insert Symbol Menu Command

I've been using the Insert Symbol menu command for years now in Word X for Mac. However, all of a sudden today the Insert Symbol command has disappeared from the Insert menu. I need help getting it back, and I need to insert symbols and special characters frequently in my work as a copyeditor.

That is written for PC Word, Mac Word is little different. You need to
"Reset" the Insert Menu.
