Installation of O2k7 SP2 fails

Vista Home Prem, SP1. At the end of the O2k7 SP2 update, I get a message
that the installation failed, then Office 2007 Stops responding. What could
be going wrong? Logs show me this (the last part of the log):

Update '2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 (SP2)' could not be
installed. Error code 1603. Additional information is available in the log

This update is failing all over the net. All the forums are trying to
figure it out. I have tried to update 4 times...no luck. We are even seeing
2 different file size of download. In the Win update site its 247 mb. At
the office site it is 290 mb. But I cant get either one to work. Runs a
compatability test and then fails.

And yes I have a legal copy and just had it validated to make sure.

Do a google on update failure and see what pops up. MS needs to get honkin
on a script to fix this.
