KPI reporting from Project Central

Is there an 'easy' way to report from Project Central? Due to the
bizarre way Central stores results from MS Project onto SQL Server,
our standard (Cognos) tools struggle beyond belief!

We generally have 20+ people within our department having ownership of
5 - 6 MS Project plans each. Everyone deploys these plans through
Project Central and in order to calculate departmental KPI's it is
necessary to calculate the time spent (per person) on a particular
type of activity (e.g. Admin, Support, Project Work)

Any sugestions on easing this procedure would be much appreciated! (It
currently takes one person 4 - 5 days per month to calculate
manually!)

Cheers!

Jeremy,

Do you really mean Project Central? (Project 2000)?

I would approach it from a project perspective. Can you create a project
level calculation that "rolls up" for the resource to indicate the desired
KPI. If so you can create an Enterprise Custom Resource Field that
calculates the KPI value you need.

Can you provide a sample of the calculation?
