Latest Update 12.1.4 Caused all messages onmy server to be downloaded again!

Hi,
After installing update 12.1.4 and restarting entourage I found all messages on my pop (webmail) server that were already downloaded into entourage were now being downloaded again! How do I stop this, and is there a quick way to delete the 10,000 odd duplicate messages now in my entourage mailbox?

I'm assuming you set Entourage to leave *all* messages on your server
instead of downloading and deleting after a few days. Correct?

POP accounts were not meant to work this way. Messages are tagged with a
unique ID by the server but that unique ID can change if the server is
reset. Entourage uses that ID to identify which messages have been
downloaded and which new messages it needs to download.

Possibly, the 12.1.4 update reset Entourage's store of unique IDs and
now it thinks everything on the server is new

I suggest you contact your E-mail service provider and ask if they offer
IMAP access to your account. IMAP synchronizes messages instead of
downloading and deleting, like POP.

To remove duplicates, you can either use a script

select View --> Unread Only to display only unread messages and just
delete those.

That's a lot of messages to be left on the server. Be sure you don't go over
your storage limit.

To get rid of duplicates use one of the scripts to remove duplicates.
