mapisp32.exe access violation Dr. Watson msg

C

Carla Nelson

One of my workstations has an email "stuck" in the outbox
of Outlook. Whenever I sign into Outlook, I get a Dr.
Watson error message stating there is an "exception access
violation" with the mapisp32.exe program. I try to delete
the message in the outbox but another message pops up
saying I cannot delete it because the spooler is trying to
send it.

In the meantime, all email activity has stopped. I run an
NT network system with Outlook 97 and Windows NT
workstations. Our email goes through an Exchange server. I
can access the email through our website webmail but not
all emails are coming through correctly. This is only a
temporary fix.

How do I resolve this problem without having to totally
uninstall and reinstall Outlook??

Thanks,
Carla

Hi,

I had the same problem, an email that I couldn't delete, below is what I
(names might be a bit off since I use a Dutch version of Outlook 97):
Extra -> Services -> select the mail account -> Properties -> Connection,
now change this to what it shouldn't be, restart (Outlook _and_ computer,
although only the first might be enough). Now if you start Outlook again you
should be able to delete the mail, after that change your settings back to
the right one, restart, that's it.

Kind regards,
hertbert
