Memory Leak When Inking

I am on a Tablet PC running Windows Vista SP1 and OneNote 2007 SP1. OneNote
has been working great for the last month (since I got it), but suddenly is
having some kind of memory leak.
OneNote usually consumes around 20mb of memory (according to Task Manager);
if I open it and only type in text or look at my notes, this amount is what
it hovers around. However, if I do any inking at all, it suddenly jumps to
50mb then to 80 or 100mb, continually growing and growing. In less than a
minute or two it reaches 400mb or more and I have to close it. Obviously,
this prevents me from doing any inking in OneNote.
I have tried simply restarting OneNote (many times), restarting my computer
(once), and doing Office Diagonistics under Help (which found no problems).
The memory leak persists. Please help!

So, I have tried a few more things. First, I reinstalled my Office 2007.
Surprisingly, this did not work, but I discovered that it is only some files
that cause this memory leak. I restored these files from their back ups, and
the memory leak is still occuring, but more slowly. Now it takes 5 or 10 min
to reach 300mb of RAM used. I will try to revert back to another version of
my notes that I have on a usb drive and see if that works. Can someone please
pay attention to their task manager when they use OneNote for an hour or so
and report how much memory was used and how fast it grew?
When I was taking notes in class, I couldn't tell if the memory leak was
still happening or I was just being paranoid. OneNote started at 20mb RAM
used, then jumped to 40mb and slowly increased during a one hour period.
About every 20mb it grew, it would suddenly jump down 15mb and then continue
to grow. By the end of the hour, it was consuming 150mb. Is this normal
behavior, because I can't tell if I'm still experiencing a memory leak? It
sure does seem like too much memory; sometimes when I wrote just one word,
OneNote grew by 1mb...

Are you optimizing files yourself or letting OneNote do it? Have you changed
the setting of file optimization so that it optimizes more frequently?

It's possible that if you are constantly writing and do not have a period of
inactivity, OneNote is not able to optimize files. OneNote requires that the
program be inactive for a set period of time in order to save files.

We are experiencing this problem today. The memory just continues to grow
greater than 400mb. If the tablet has been turned off for several weeks of
inactivity, would this affect the optimization on the first day back? We are
wondering if that is the reason that it is growing so much today and didn't
seem to have this problem before the weeks of leave. We are checking the
optimization settings, but could use some input on how long this problem
might go on, given the long period of being offline.
