message recall attempt unsuccessful; messages repeating endlesly

I use Microsoft Outlook 2002. I foolishly tried to recall a message, with
notification of whether the recall was successful or not. Not being on
Exchange Server, it was not successful. Now I am receiving messages every
couple of minutes telling me the recall was not successful, and my recipient
is receiving messages that I attempted the recall. This has been going on for
two days now.

Any suggestions?
