missing menus from the Excel APPLICATION MENU bar

I was customizing my own toolbar and unknowingly deleted the FILE and EDIT from the APPLICATION MENU bar. I have a MacBook.

FYI: here's how to fix:
Harddrive:Libraryreferences

put the following item into the trash:
com.microsoft.Excel.plist

when you reboot the machine, the application menu resets itself!

Well, that's one way to fix it... Unfortunately you lose your other
customizations & Preference settings in the process.

It might have been a bit preferable to simply go back to the Customize
dialog [where the problem originated] & put the items back onto the Menu by
way of the Built-In Menus Category
