Office 2003 PE upgrade to new computer

I installed an upgrade version of Office 2003 Professional Edition, bought
retail, on a previous computer running XP Home Edition. I now have a new
computer running Vista. I tried installing it on the new computer but it
would not recognize a qualifying version. On the old computer it used
Microsoft Works to qualify and load. The new computer also has Microsoft
Works but will not allow it to load. I have the product key so that is not
the problem. Am I expected to buy a full version of the new 2007 or should I
be able to download what I already paid for? Any help would be appreciated.

You are trying to use a newer version of Works than Office 2003 and this
won't work as a qualifier. You need an older version to act as the
qualifier. If you have the installation disk for the older computer, maybe
it has your previous version of Works that you could use.

Thanks for the replies. The older version thing makes sense. I'll look
around and see if I have the old system disk. It should be lost somewhere
amongst the couple of hundred or so disks I have lying around.
