Outlook won't open, says Ordinal Not Found.

I have Office 97 professional. I have reinstalled several times. Same thing
happens, also happens in safe mode. All the rest of my office programs work
fine. The complete error message is "The ordinal 36 could not be located in
the dynamic link library MAPI32.dll"

any ideas?
