recent problem with Microsoft Office Imaging HANGING

Use of CHISEL MARKER in WHITE makes cursor disappear; program hangs and
WINDOW appears showing:

Server is Busy: This action cannot be completed because the other program
is busy. Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy program and correct the
problem.

But, the program remains FROZEN, and the Window will not permit the cursor
to superimpose over it; it requires a reboot to disengage or opening another
program.

Apologies if this issue has been treated before, but it just began for me.
(XP professional).

Here in Office 2007 on XP Pro, the "white" color doesn't do anything.

problem also occurs in safe mode.
