Remove Security Warning when opening linked files?

Word 2002

When I link a word doc to a non-Word file and then Ctrl-click on the
link. it pops a warning from MS-Office "Opening \\.... Some files can
contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your computer. It is
important to be certain that this file is from a trustworthy source.
Would you like to open this file?"

Can I shut that warning off or perhaps shut it off for local files?

Thanks,

I don't think you can. It is part of Microsoft's security.

One thing I don't understand is that you should not be getting those errors
for local files... I have links in my word documents connected to files
located in my hard drive and I don't get the error.

Hope this helps,

Vicente
