Resource Usage View shows up incorrect values

Dear all,
I am experiencing a strange situation with the Resource Usage View. In some
lines the column corresponding to the task's data "WBS" contains the value of
the task's data "Id". And this happens arbritrarily.
As a consequence when I export the assignments to an Excel file by using an
export map I get the wrong value for task's data "WBS".
I have found the following workaround. When the situation happens I activate
the Task Sheet View, select every cell in the "WBS" column (not the column)
and then activate again the Resource Usage View. Amazingly, the wrong cells
contain now the right value and can export the assignment with guarantee.
Has anybody else experienced the situation?. Do you know anything to sort
out the situation?.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hello Toni,

What field in the resource usage view are you viewing (double click on the
column heading and tell us what the field name is)? What version (including
Service Pack) of project are you using? Is the WBS value a customized WBS?

Let us know and we'll try to help out.

Julie

Hello Julie,

The field I am viewing is the standard "WBS" field and the contents of this
field does not follow any pre-established pattern (i.e.: I am not the WBS
coding functionality).

The version of MS_Project is 2003 SP2.

I hope this helps you to give your assistance. Thanks for your kind
attention.

Hi Toni,

Sorry, I can't replicate the issue here. Does this occur on all project
files or just a specific file?

Hi Julie,

I occurs to all projects which are based on an .mpt that attemps to
standardize but which does not include neither any task nor any resource. And
the problem occurs both for tasks to which resource assignments have already
been done and for tasks without resource assignment.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello Toni,

It sounds as though there may be an issue with the project template then.
If you create a new project (not based upon the template) does the problem
occur?

Without seeing your project file, it's tough to do further trouble shooting.
If you'd care to, you can zip the file and email it to me. I cannot promise
I can "fix" anything, but I may be able to spot something that has gone awry.

Hi Julie,

Thanks for your effort. I'll take your advice and check whether the problem
happens in a project not based upon the template. In the meanwhile, I can zip
the template and a project file based upon it and send them both to you. To
which e-mail address?. Thanks.

Hello Toni,

You can send the zipped files to prjng [at] maine.rr.com. Replace the
[at] with an @.

Hello Julie,

Many thanks for your kind attention. Following your recommendation I have
rebuilt the template from scratch and have reloaded the projects. The problem
seems to have disappeared. So, to not abuse of your kind attention I am
noting your e-mail address and should the problem reappear I'll send you the
files.

Best Regards.
